THE 10 BEST CONCERTS OF 2012
3. The Avett Brothers - Bank of America Pavilion, Boston, MA - September 16, 2012
There was a moment in the show when Scott Avett was tuning his banjo and Seth Avett, still singing, hands the lyrics over to the audience. They enthusiastically take over, and hearing this, Scott chuckles an overwhelmed sigh of disbelief.
Moments like this are one of the main reasons why I love live music.
The Avett Brothers are at home up on that stage, and they appreciate every second they’re home.
Highlight: The overwhelming mid-show stretch that included my three favorite Avett songs, and more; Down with the Shine > Love Like the Movies > When I Drink > Sanguine > Laundry Room (My favorite) > Old Joe Clark > Paul Newman and the Demons (which was life-changing live) > Murder in the City.
